How to Spend a Perfect Day in Santa Ponsa Majorca

We spent a blissful week in Santa Ponsa Majorca. It’s an island where I felt I’d seen it all, but Santa Ponsa surprised me. I don’t know if it’s because I work in travel and sell it so much, but I didn’t expect that much, to be honest. We decided to book because the hotel we stayed at had great value and something for the kids. I didn’t expect to fall for the area so much. Spend a perfect day in Santa Ponsa with us.

Starting the Day Right

Head down to the beach in the morning. I genuinely think being by the sea is so good for the soul. The main beach in Santa Ponsa Majorca is gorgeous white sand with plenty of beds and parasols available. If you want to walk by the shore, you will see how clear this water is. It’s so pristinely crystal clear that it will just make your heart happy.

There are a handful of bars on the beach too serving drinks and snacks. We headed down and grabbed a delicious iced latte while watching the waves lap at the shore. Is there a better way to start the day? There are a lot of places for breakfast down in Santa Ponsa too, including McDonalds right across the road from the beach.

Shopping in Santa Ponsa Majorca

Who can resist a bit of retail therapy on holiday? The resort is home to loads of shops whether you’re looking for the perfect souvenir to take home, a nice new outfit or if you’re anything like me, a wander around the supermarket snack aisle! I am always obsessed with looking at which crisp flavours they have on holiday.

Leisurely lunch

After a strenuous morning shopping, there’s no better way to relax than a leisurely lunch. Perhaps a few cocktails to wash it down too. There’s a good selection of seafront restaurants in Santa Ponsa Majorca that are the perfect setting for lunch. Fresh seafood and tapas are super popular. The most delicious calamari and patatas bravas make the perfect way to refuel. This needs to be washed down with an ice-cold beer, or even better a frozen Pina Colada! It’s the stuff that holiday dreams are made of, dreamy views and amazing food.

We walked past Las Olas restaurant a few times and although we didn’t go in, this place smelled amazing and was always packed. I see that as a great sign, if it’s full of locals, it must be good. The big plates of seafood coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled divine and the Trip Advisor reviews are all positive. Beach Bar Empatheia also looked great for tapas and some delicious-looking cocktails

Beach Afternoon

Make the short walk from the restaurant to the beach for the afternoon. There are loads of sunbeds and parasols on the beach, so you’ll hardly struggle for somewhere to sit. 2 beds and a parasol cost around €20 for the day.

If sunbathing isn’t for you, head out swimming or hire a pedalo and explore the gorgeous clear water even more. You can hire a boat or a SUP (stand-up paddle board) too. The cove in Santa Ponsa Majorca is the perfect beach for families with children of all ages. lovely powdery soft sand and a gently shelving sea make it the perfect spot for sandcastle building and paddling.

Dinner Time in Santa Ponsa Majorca

You’ll be spoiled for choice of places to eat dinner in Santa Ponsa Majorca. No matter what you fancy, you’ll be able to find it. All budgets are catered for too even those fussy eaters on a tight budget can find a McDonalds and Burger King in the centre. Head into Santa Ponsa centre and have a wander around, deciding which would be the right one for your mood. It’s all a part of the fun!

An Evening of Entertainment

There’s a huge array of family-friendly bars in Santa Ponsa Majorca. In the Square, you’ll find a selection of Irish and Scottish bars with a big screen TV in the centre, the perfect spot for catching the football. A lot of places have various tribute acts playing each evening, whether you want to see Abba, Elton John or Robbie Williams, you’ll find them somewhere on any given night! Go out and let your hair down, kids are welcome in most places, and make some memories as a family.

We loved Santa Ponsa, it was one of those places that I hadn’t really done a lot of research into before going. I knew bits a bobs from working in travel, but to experience it was different. It’s a great resort for families, made even better by a relatively short 45-minute transfer from Palma airport which is one of the shorter transfers in Majorca.
