Uncovering the Culinary Delights: Exploring the Best Restaurants in Kalamaki

Kalamaki is easily my favourite Greek resort for food. When we travel as a family there is always somewhere for everyone to find something good. I’ve been to so many Greek family resorts that none can compare to restaurants in Kalamaki.

It’s important to understand that the accommodation in Kalamaki is mostly Self Catering or Bed & Breakfast properties. To know that the food options are good and varied makes it worthwhile.

Pandesia

Always my favourite. The food is delicious, the entertainment is brilliant and the kids are occupied. Every night is busy here. People return time after time to experience it, and on returning the staff treat you like family. We returned last summer after a year away and as soon as we walked in the manager came running over to greet and hug us!

On our last night, they made us feel so welcome with free drinks, lots of photos, and more cuddles! I will warn anyone who wants to go as a big group – be patient. The staff are all human and can only serve one person at a time. Sit back, relax and enjoy the music, and dancing and send the kids to play in the play area while you wait for the outstanding food!

Tazies

Another favourite but a totally different vibe here. A quick bite to eat is the order of things. Gyros wrap and the pizzas are big favourites with my lot. Followed by delicious crepes for dessert. Wash it down with a Mythos and you can’t go wrong!

Iguana Bar

Listed in my list of favourite bars, Iguana Bar is a great option for dinner too. Head up to the beautiful roof terrace, with stunning sunset views over Kalamaki. The menu isn’t traditional Greek but tasty food, I had Fish & chips that were delicious and the others had burgers. During high season there are often singers playing on the roof terrace too, serenading you while you eat dinner!

Olive Tree

One of the first restaurants in Kalamaki that we ever visited. The Olive Tree is a regular every time we visit now. The restaurant itself is really pretty with lots of lush greenery, the menu is very good. Lots of traditional Greek dishes, a great kids menu and very reasonably priced. It’s always a pleasure to spend the evening here.

D&B’s BBQ restaurant

One of the most surprisingly good restaurants in Kalamaki for sure! Attached to the mini golf, this place is a hidden gem. If you play a round of golf you get a discount to play if you eat dinner there too! Some seriously good BBQ food, my daughter has raved about the ribs here for the last year. As well as BBQ food there are some decent Vegetarian dishes, the baked spaghetti was very yummy. And the garlic bread is a must!

Other favourite restaurants in Kalamaki

I would be sitting here all evening and you would really lose interest if I went into details about all the restaurants in Kalamaki that I have eaten at and enjoyed!

Here’s the low down:
– Bullhorn. A steak restaurant but loads of traditional Greek dishes with a lot of vegetarian options and a good kids’ menu too.
– Stani Taverna. Hidden out of the way near the beach, this traditional Greek restaurant has dishes that are so delicious. I could eat the feta parcels with honey and sesame seeds every day for the rest of my life and never get bored.
– Dafni’s – Extremely good Greek dishes. Worth a visit.
– Parthenon. You cannot miss this place on the main strip. Big Greek columns outside set the scene for this Greek restaurant in Kalamaki!

Have you been to Kalamaki? Let me know which are your favourites and what your must-have dishes are. I’m especially interested to hear if you know a good vegetarian dish that I’ve been missing.

Have a fabulous holiday!
