Lassi has a lot going for it as a family resort. The beaches are stunning. The bars are vast and varied. It’s very easily accessible and a great base for exploring the island. And as in every other Greek resort I’ve been to, the food is immense! My rundown of which Lassi restaurants are the ones for you is here!

We’ve been to Lassi twice as a family and tried a lot of the restaurants. There are a few all-inclusive properties on Kefalonia but I feel you will miss out if you don’t eat out! My boys are very much plain food lovers, as ashamed as I am to admit it. But even they couldn’t resist some of the delights on offer.

Whatever time of day and whether you fancy sweet or savoury you can find something to suit. Let’s face it not everyone wants to eat a big meal twice a day every day. But some days eating a larger lunchtime meal is preferred. Sometimes, maybe just a dessert for dinner will do! Who cares, you’re on holiday, you can eat what you want!

The best Lassi restaurants for light bites

Looking for something smaller at lunchtime? A packet of Lays and a can of Fanta Limon is sometimes enough to last me until dinner when no energy has been used. But more often than not by mid-afternoon, I need something a little more substantial. Probably washed down with an ice-cold Mythos too! This is when we will head out for a light bite at lunch.

Staircase Bar

This place is just the most chilled and it has amazing views. Situated up a staircase just off Makris Gialos Beach, hence the name. Food and drinks are served until about 5 pm making it ideal for a midday lunch. There’s a choice of burgers, toasties, sandwiches, fruit salad (the best) and ice creams. All washed down with an ice-cold beer or soft drink. Lush!

Taverna Makris Gialos

More or less next door to the Staircase bar is the Taverna Makris Gialos. More traditional Greek foods than snacks here but a great selection. The views are the show-stopper here, I don’t think you can ever tire of the turquoise seas. The food is delicious and varied, we kept it light at lunch with gyros and Greek salad. Of course, it’s traditional to wash it all down with ice-cold Mythos too!

The best Lassi Restaurants for evening meals

The main strip of Lassi is full of gorgeous-looking restaurants to suit all tastes. Fear not though, we have tested a lot and have found what we believe to be the best!

Aqua Marina

This family restaurant is open all day and we have visited for both lunch and dinner. The family all pitch in here and are all super friendly which made our visits memorable. My daughter loved the watermelon and feta salad! Really lovely, fresh, traditional food perfect for lunchtime or evening. To find this place, walk along the main strip and then turn towards the sea on the street sign for the Mediterranee Hotel. If you manage to make it here in time for sunset, the views are so beautiful!

Tanu’s

Situated on the main strip, this is my eldest son’s favourite Lassi restaurant. You can be sure of a friendly member of the team ready to greet you as you walk by and welcome you in. I know how easy it is to tell them you have already eaten and carried on walking, but I promise it’s worth a visit! With a good selection of traditional dishes for both meat-eaters and vegetarians. They also will make any meal on the menu smaller for the kids. A great way to encourage children to try instead of the usual kid’s menu of nuggets.

Tzogias Taverna

A quaint little restaurant at the Costa Costa end of the main strip. Built down some stairs, the staff get a good workout heading up and down the stairs to serve! The food is good, traditional, homemade Greek food with a good selection too. The only downfall for some people is there are a few cats that love to come and play… Personally, as we have cats at home it made it better for us. However, we did see a lady kick a cat away and that I found distressing more than anything.

Sirtaki

Head down the strip towards Argostoli and you will come to Sirtaki. A really pretty restaurant with a good selection of outdoor seating. The main part and the secret garden are usually open in the summer. The secret garden area is really beautiful, tables are set up in a really lovely garden decorated with candles and fairy lights. The ambience here is relaxed and calm, the perfect mood after a hard day at the beach. The food is really good too, again lots of traditional options with a focus on fish dishes.

Butlers House

This quirky restaurant is in the middle of the main strip and is home to some amazing sunset views. The decor is unlike any other in the resort. With random articles like bikes and chairs backs as wall decorations, you certainly will not forget about this place in a hurry! Heading to the toilet here is like a visit to a museum, the decor is certainly a talking point! Delicious homemade food and great service all add to the evening. If nothing else, this is one of the most memorable of the Lassi restaurants.

The best Lassi Restaurants for sweet treats

Treathouse

Across the street from Butler’s house is Treathouse. Head over there for a sweet treat. Waffles, crepes and ice cream to suit everyone. It’s not the place to go if you just want a small snack though… The portions are huge and delicious! We have visited both times we’ve been to Lassi, and this is the kid’s favourite restaurant in Lassi! Although not technically a restaurant, it’s worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth. If you’re not fancying something sweet, Gyro’s are also available!

It’s not worth staying any more than a bed and breakfast in Lassi, the food is too good to miss! All of these restaurants are good value, with kids’ meals at around €5 including drinks in most places and adult meals starting at around €10 on average. A night out with lovely views and good food doesn’t have to break the bank.

If you are considering Lassi in Kefalonia have a look at my other posts to see what else it has to offer and which beaches to add to your list!

Thanks for reading, I’d love to hear if you can recommend any others that you love!
